Calcium and multivitamin supplements are essential for captive frogs. Conventional wisdom says overdosing with these additives is possible. I challenge this and give calcium powder at every feed and am rewarded with very good quality froglets.

This is Drosophila hydeii (the previous photo showed D. melanogaster). I culture them in a plastic beer mug with mashed-up banana, Reddy Brek, and a sheet of kitchen paper.

Tadpoles thrive on a mixture of (2:2:1) Tetramin (i.e. high quality) tropical fish flakes, with a high protein content : spirulina powder : ground cuttlefish bone. All frogs are given food dusted with Nutrobal powder (contains calcium and multivitamins).
